Wine market report Australia 2013

Wine market report Australia 2013

Australia is one of the bigger wine producing countries in the world with a production area of 160.000 ha and a wine production of about 11 Mio. hl. The biggest wine zones are the Barossa Valley, Hunter Valley and Coonawarra. Most of the wine zones are in the South-East of Australia, with just a few areas in the West. Australian wine makers have always been very creative! Using special methods it is possible to create red wines in Australia, that appear very harmonic and drinkable within just a few months. So it is no surprise that wines from Down under have a worldwide reputation.

We are at the beginning of the new harvest 2013; early varieties have already started. Samples for white wine can be expected in May, samples for red wine will be available in August.
